Vital CPR offers a wide variety of programs that meet the needs of the community, workplaces, and Health Care Providers.

Community Programs

Learn essential first aid and CPR skills with our public workshops. Skills are delivered in easy-to-follow steps, using practical hands-on components and a variety of training materials.  Workshop options include:

• Family CPR - This 90 Minute workshop is suitable for new parents, grandparents, and family caregivers.
• Active Response First Aid  - This 3 Hour workshop builds on Family CPR and adds essential first aid care for Anaphylaxis, and life-threatening bleeding.  Be prepared to help in your community.
• Basic Rescue CPR - Attend a 3 Hour class which provides more hands-on CPR practice, AED training, and an option to add certification with completion of a self-paced online module.
• Psychological First Aid - This exciting program option teaches everyone how to help others experiencing loss, grief and stress, and also self-care.  Available as two self-paced online modules; Self Care, Caring for Others.

Workplace Programs

According to Regulation 1101, all workplaces in Ontario covered by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA) must provide first aid training to their employees.
The required training depends on the number of people working per shift at a workplace:

• For workplaces with five or fewer people working on any one shift, at least one must have an Emergency First Aid certificate. This program includes 6.5 hours of instruction.
• For workplaces with six or more people working on any shift, at least one must have a Standard First Aid certificate. This program includes 13 hours of instruction.
• Psychological First Aid - This exciting program option teaches employees to recognize signs of loss, grief, stress, and self-care.  Available as two self-paced online modules which can be added to the First Aid programs.
• Occupational Health & Safety - Red Cross offers online occupational health and safety (OHS) courses designed
  to help employers meet their OHS responsibilities and provide employees with the
  training they need to enhance safety in the workplace.

Health Care Providers (HCPs)

Designed to build participant confidence in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills and provide the important steps to perform a rapid assessment, perform Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, and perform rapid defibrillation. 

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - 6 Hour course with a focus on high-performance CPR for health care providers (HCPs)
• Basic Life Support + Standard First Aid adds a comprehensive first aid component for students entering health care programs, and for allied health care providers (e.g. PSWs, public health caregivers)
• BLS Re-Certification - 3 Hour renewal course which allows HCPs to review skills annually
